Blouson Dress, Belt Bag & Sneakers

Happy Monday guys! I’m happy this week is here because it will be a short one for me. I had a low key weekend doing domestic stuff and some blog work. I am loving this new schedule because it’s nice not having to stress putting 5 new posts weekly, with that I found that I put a lot more care in my posts.

How to wear a belt bag

So this dress is my latest obsession, I don’t understand how this is my first blouson dress. I’ve tried ordering a few styles from other brands but they didn’t work. This particular style seems to be a staple for Rails, so I will probably get another one. Brands like Rebecca Minkoff, A.L.C, MISA, LoveShackFancy, Parker, Joie and more are fond of this boho style. My dress is quite short, so if you are a tall girl it will most likely be a tunic for you, then again I think my bum is a bit above average so you may be fine after all.

This set of necklaces is back in stock and I’m so excited for you guys, I make sure not to get them wet and store them in my jewelry box after each wear and they look awesome. A cheaper alternative to get the layered look, I love this stack.

Can we talk about my belt bag, it’s actually a regular crossbody that you also wear as a belt bag. Which is ideal in my opinion. You never know, I may get sick of the fanny pack look so at least I know I can just wear mine as a regular crossbody.

Last but not least, my “Pick of the Week” is this cute cami under $40. It comes in two additional colors.

White Blouse & Skinny Jeans

Happy Friday ladies! I’m so ready for the weekend. I’m working on the weekly newsletter that is going out Sunday morning, so make sure to sign up. I share a bit more there so make sure to subscribe. Do you guys have any fun weekend plans? I don’t as of now but I’m sure something will come.

I wore this a little while ago for a casual night out, you guys know I”m a sucker for a cute white blouse. This one runs big so you can for sure go down a size. I cannot wait to wear it with white shorts for a fun Summer look. I don’t usually go for oversized top but I always love a good eyelet top. All these pieces I’ve worn them before so make sure to check out the Outfit category to see my older looks.

Work Wardrobe Must Haves Part 2

As promised today let’s tackle part two of the work wardrobe must haves. You can check out part one here if you missed it. When it comes to building a great work wardrobe, I say get your necessary basics first, then you can rely on fun accessories to give your outfits some personality.

Let’s start with Flats, I wear mine to death so I absolutely need a nice selection. I love heels but comfort is a big deal to me and I have no desire to walk around in high heels every single day. I love my flats with both a rounded or pointed toe. My all time favorite pair are the Varina by Ferragamo. They are expensive but the colorful ones often go on sale at Saks, Neiman, Farfetch and more. Here are a few options that I recommend:

Straight or A line skirts, these are not exactly pencil skirts, they have more wiggle room and I love that. I usually prefer them above the knee but that’s a personal choice and also depends on the dress code in your office. Some great options to check out below.

Stripe Shirt, a great one is an absolute must for me, if you are not new here then this is no surprise. Stripes as far as I’m concerned are neutral, they go with everything. I have several stripe shirts and I will just go ahead and share all my favorites with you.

Midi skirst are another type of skirts I love, they are more conservative and so fun to wear. I only have a couple, I always have to get mine altered because of my 5’4 frame. The one above was a lot longer when I got it. They look great with button down shirts too.

striped shirtdress with flats

Shirt-dresses are such a life saver, they are classic and make dressing for work so much easier. I have just a couple but I wear them all the time. If they are sleeveless I usually pair them with a cardigan or blazer. I shared some of my favorite cardigans and blazers in the previous post.

Hope you found this post helpful, if you would like me to cover any particular pieces, let me know in the comments. Thank you for stopping by and see you back Friday for a new post.

Stripe Top & Paper Bag Waist Shorts

how to style paper bag waist shorts

Happy Monday! Hope you had a pleasant weekend, mine felt too short but that’s always the case. I had extra free time because I’m only posting MWF, that schedule is ideal for me. With that I am putting way more effort on the weekly newsletter, so make sure to join me there. I chat more there about books I’m reading, what I’ve shopped for lately, my workouts and more.

This is the same tee I am wearing in last week’s post. A classic stripe tee is a must in my closet and I always have at least 2. You never know when you will need a backup, another great option that I have and love is that one.

My shorts didn’t make it past the last Shopbop sale, they are so good that I also got them in black. When it’s way too hot for heavy materials like denim, I know I will be reaching for these lightweight shorts. No worries, this year I think a lot more retailers caught up to the paper bag waist trend, so I found several cute options.

A good stripe tee is truly a staple in my close along with a cute red crossbody bag, last week I shared a great round up of red bags for all budgets.

My “Pick of the Week” is this super cute belt bag that I really want. Thank you for reading and stopping by, see you back on Wednesday for a new post.

Stripe Shirt and Denim Skirt

Stripe shirt and denim skirt
Happy Friday guys! So happy the weekend is here, I’m looking forward to spending some time outside and enjoy the nice weather. As mentioned in Wednesday’s post,  I’m reducing my posting schedule back to about 3 times weekly and more if I’m inspired or have to time to create extra content. I don’t ever want this blog to feel like a chore or work, because I already have so many of those. I’d rather create fewer quality posts, I do want most of them to be outfit posts as I know they are your favorites. I’ve thought about quitting blogging a lot lately, but I realized it’s because I was putting pressure on myself to post more and do more.

Blogging has always been an hobby for me first and I enjoy it way more when I treat it as such. Having made that decision, most of my posts for next week are planned and almost done, I can easily manage 3 posts weekly. I’m a type A psycho so I really don’t need to add any extra pressure on myself, it’s unfortunate because I then turn fun hobbies like blogging into to this intricate and complicated task. Trust me I do this in all aspects of my life, and I constantly have to remind myself to take a step back, it can be exhausting.

I do think I am starting a new chapter with this blog, my style has become more basic (I think!) and my shopping habits have changed. I have purged my closet drastically and I refuse to shop just for the sake of having something new to share on the blog. So it will be interesting to see how this all works out. You also definitely want to get on the weekly newsletter mailing list because I now have the time to make it even better and share more.

This outfit is made of all favorites that you’ve seen over and over, it’s pretty basic. I’ve been considering getting a white denim mini skirt since I’ve been wearing that one so much but I’m afraid I won’t wear it as often. I love my white jeans but I know I don’t wear them nearly as often as my black or blue ones. shirt and denim skirt

If you made it all the way here, thank you for reading. Don’t know why I’m so chatty today!
