Happy Friday! Wore this earlier this Summer, all these pieces are old but below I’m sharing pieces to recreate a similar look. Keeping it short and sweet and below here are some fun links to check out.
I almost didn’t post my work outfit this week because I only have one, but hey this is real life and sometimes I only get to document one outfit. I loooooooved this outfit, it’s really simple but I felt good in it all day. The first pic was taken before work and the second after work, I was worried about being all wrinkly at the end of the day but it held up pretty well. This shirt is my favorite Express button down and these pants are from Zara, I got them last weekend while I was in Miami. These shoes are knockoffs of the Chanel pair I love, my sister says they look like grandma shoes but I DON’T CARE. Let’s be real I’m really a grandma stuck in the body of a 30 something yo. Hope you are having a great week.
Hey guys! I know some of my peers are in full Fall mode, trust me I will get there but it is too hot not to share more Summer outfits. A couple weeks ago, I planned a day of leisure with my friend Charnele. We spent the day at pool, eating, drinking and talking about anything and everything. We even did some light shopping, it was a Sunday well spent.
Before we got down to it, I did make sure to document my outfit that I felt was perfect for a pool party. This is one of my favorite bathing suits, it’s by Body Glove. As much as I love J.Crew swimwear, Body Glove is way superior. They cost a bit more too, but can always find them on sale here. This is my go-to black one piece suit and I always get compliments on it. The back is the best part of it, see here.
Sometimes I join my sister when she is buying for her store, almost every-time I end up with freebies like this duster. Isn’t fabulous? I plan on wearing it as a dress as well with a slip underneath. I got this white bag and sandals for Summer and I’m loving them. I’m sure I will be into them next year because they are not overly trendy. I usually like checking out new trends but I’ve noticed from my closet cleanings that trendy pieces never last for me. So as much as I may think they are cute, I need to stick to classic pieces. I’m already over some trendy items I got this Summer so I already listed them on eBay, instead of having them gathering dust in my closet the rest of the year.
Today I wanted to share a more classic list of things I’m loving, I’m no longer in the mood to shop for Summer items. I feel like these pieces can be worn now and later. Leopard is a neutral for me and I love that little dress, I’m waiting to see if it goes on sale. I know I may miss out but I’m willing to take the risk.
I got this blazer and booties last year and wore them a lot. I highly recommend them, these booties were a splurge but one I did not regret. I have very few boots and booties and this is my only black flat pair. I you want a less expensive alternative, I would recommend these.
A lot of these pieces are also work friendly but can easily be dressed down for a casual look, like this stripe blouse and paperbag pants. I have a pleated midi skirt that I’ve had for years and cherish, I was happy to find a similar one.
I stopped by a COS store a few months ago and was pleasantly surprised. They have amazing tees, I purchased 2 of them. I didn’t need anything else at the time but I’ll keep them in mind for work clothing. Their clothes are classic, minimal and well made. How cute is this top, I often struggle to find tops I love other than button downs or tees.
Have a great weekend guys and I have a newsletter going out Sunday morning, subscribe here if you haven’t yet.
I’m not sure what is going on with my left hand here but at a least this is a pretty clear picture of my outfit. I’m loving my white skirt I got on super duper sale a few months ago, then length is perfect for my 5’4 frame. I love to wear flats so I often go for skirts that hit above the knee. I must have worn a version of this outfit a thousand times.
I’m also joining Anne in her currently linkup. So currently..
I’m following… the minimalists, these guys have been a great help with letting go of a lot of material stuff. Their podcast is always so inspiring.
I got these Zara pants last year and they are part of my Fall-ish workwear but I felt like wearing them. Don’t they look cute with my yellow top? I’ve been wearing these loafer mules non stop, they are part of the nsale.
