What I Wore To Work

Happy Hump Day! Happy we made it halfway through the week and I’m so ready for the weekend.  I am joining Anne to her currently link-up.

Following: Lately I’ve been trying not to spend too much time on Instagram, I do post and try my best to interact my friend’s posts. I actually unfollowed quite a few accounts, specially influencers and brands. I’m trying to consume less and I just don’t want to see daily try-on ig stories or constant advertisements, it’s nothing personal just something I have to do for myself. I still love fashion and want to blog but I’m trying not to associate with the need to constantly shop.

Ordering: Not much since I’m doing a shopping ban for September. I don’t always agree with going cold turkey but I’m choosing not to shop this month because honestly, I don’t need anything new. My last purchase was this bomber that I got on sale. I love the knit fabric and the colors are a bit darker in person, which is even better in my opinion.

Pinning: This yummy Korean Beef recipe that I totally made and it came out amazing. Added it to corn tortilla with kimchi for the yummiest taco.

Watching: Last weekend Showtime was free and I binged on the latest season of The Affair. it was so good, I kind of gave up on it because it was too soap opera like for me but I loved the twists of season 4.

Counting: The days to my weekend because it is my birthday and it’s a three day weekend.

Wearing: A couple of work outfits I’ve worn lately.

Cropped Tank & Yellow Skirt

cropped tank and yellow skirt zara outfit

Happy Labor Day! I will spend my day doing the minimum, I have a pilates class and I want to get my workout in but that’s it. I’m throwing it back to a weekend when I did fun activities. This all Zara look was worn to brunch before my friend Charnele’s move to the West Coast. Wearing a crop top at brunch when you eat 3 donuts is not the best idea but YOLO. I enjoyed every single one. This is a new spin one of my favorite outfits ever, see the skirt in the older outfit no longer fits me so I’m glad I was able to find a new one. Yellow quickly became one of my favorite bright colors, I did a post about how I incorporate yellow in my outfits here.

What I’m Wearing :: Sunglasses // Earrings // Short Necklace // Necklace // Bracelet // Fitbit // Tank // Skirt // Sandals // Bag // Headband

black square sunglasses

I stopped by Illesteva to get one of my old sunglasses fixed and found this gorgeous squared one. It is hard to find a pair that is not too overwhelming for my face but this size is perfect. Did you guys do any shopping? I officially started my shopping ban, on September 1st. I can only buy fashion related pieces with gift cards and stuff as it is my birthday month but I cannot use my income for shopping. I did get some stuff from J.Crew, they have some cute pieces right now, I got this cute bomber and work pants. If we had real Fall here, I would get this sweater. My favorite blazers the Parke and Going out are fully back in stock. These leopard print flats are almost identical to a pair I got last year. Everything is 40% off with code BIGSALE.

My “Pick of the Week” are these booties, they are so sexy and would look so good with skinny jeans or dresses.

August 2018 Beauty Favorites + Labor Day Sales

So excited to share some stuff I’m loving this month, not sure I will have a beauty review up in September but we’ll see. I often avoid products when they seem super popular on blogs, I just assume they are gifted and everyone feel compelled to write positive reviews. Well I was wrong about one particular brand so let’s do this.

Biologique Recherche Brightening Eye Cream: I mentioned in the last review that I was trying a new eye cream and this one as already brighten my lids. Mine are super dark and this is helping a lot. I wonder if the brightening effect will last if I stop using it, but this bottle should last me a while so we’ll see, I only use a teeny bit morning and night.

Glossier Lidstar: I cut my makeup stash by 80%, it was just too much. I just kept the minimum, I got the lidstar by Glossier because it seems like a great addition to my easy makeup routine. Lately whenever I’m traveling or going away I just bring this beauty and you can totally use it as an highlighter as well.

Moroccan Oil Treatment: Ok I got this one from a PR package from Moroccan Oil and I have not stopped using it since. This is hands down my favorite hair oil, it give my hair shine without that sticky oily residue. I will totally repurchase it. They also sent me this hydrating shampoo and conditioner, I only shampoo about once a month and almost always favor an hydrating shampoo and conditioner since my hair is dry.

Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen: So I honestly always avoided Supergoop because I never believed the hype. Two weekends ago, I was with my girlfriends and as we were getting ready to head out, one of them was using it and raved about it. I tried it and you don’t feel it at all on your skin and it’s also a primer. I’ve been using it every single day since getting it. It has SPF 40 and is water and sweat resistant, which is perfect for South Florida.

Now let’s talk Labor Day sales, the shopping fever got me because of the new season. I only want a select few pieces because I don’t want to increase my closet volume. It’s really hard for a fashion lover like myself but I’m not shopping the labor day sales, only because I don’t really need anything and I already planned to get myself a few items for my birthday so shopping this weekend would be overkill.

However, a lot of my favorite items that I use or wear often are on sale, so I wanted to share them with you guys.

Sephora carries a lot of my favorites and I currently have the vib sale going on with code YESVIB. Here are my favorites from there that I use and love.

Abercrombie has 40% off right now and I don’t shop their often, but I love the few pieces I have from them. Find them below.

J.Crew has 40% with code BIGSALE. Over the Summer I wasn’t into J.Crew at all but they got their act together for Fall. I love this shirt and pants, Here are my favorite pieces.

Express has 40% off everything and they seem to have brought back all my favorite Express pieces that I’ve accumulated over the years.

What I Wore To Work + What’s Up Wednesday

Hey guys! Today I am joining What’s Up Wednesday with MelSheafferShay. I’m answering all the questions below that applies to me and sharing some work outfits I wore lately.

What I’m eatingEverything! I’ve been meal prepping consistently and making sure I get 3 healthy meals everyday but on weekends all bets are off. I keep it simple with chicken, beef or seafood, as well as rice, quinoa, sweet potatoes, regular potatoes, veggies, fruits and of course pasta. I am often sharing my meals on IG story.

What I’m loving: Blazers! I’ve always loved them but now even more. I pair them with simple button downs and jeans for work, over dresses and more. Cannot wait to wear them more when the temps drop and I want to get a new nice one.

What I’m working on: Pilates, I’ve been doing it for 3 months now and I’ve made a lot of progress but still have so much to learn. Pilates is humbling, some moves I haven’t mastered yet and the type A in me is very frustrated. However, I’m learning to listen to my body and enjoy the progress I’ve made.

What I’m excited about: I’m headed to New Orleans for a week in October and I cannot wait! That’s all I can think about.

What I’m watching: To all the boys I’ve loved before on Netflix is the cutest movie ever!

What I’m listening to: Lots of podcasts, specially The Minimalists, Dear Sugars(it’s their last season) and Akimbo.

What I’m wearing: These are a couple outfits I wore to work a few weeks ago.

Blazer // Bodysuit // Skirt // Sandals

work outfit with jeans and blush blouse

Short Necklace // Necklace // Top // Jeans // Shoes

What I’m looking forward to next month: My birthday! Lol I have no plans but I will have a long weekend to relax and do whatever the hell I want.

What to Wear to the Beach?

what to wear to the beach

Happy Monday! Hope you guys had a great weekend and mine was a lot calmer than last week’s. When I was out and about every single day, that also made last week a lot more difficult. I don’t bounce back from a weekend of fun as well as I used to unfortunately. I swear last week, I was in bed by 9:30pm every single day.

You know when you eventually will end up at the beach or pool, this is the outfit to wear. My friends and I wanted to a do a little shopping prior so we wore this to Brickell city center before heading to the pool. I took a nice long nap poolside, it was really the best until some random guy started harassing us. I snapped pics of a couple more outfits I wore that weekend that I will share in the next couple of weeks.

What I’m Wearing :: Sunglasses // Earrings // Necklace // Fitbit // Shirt // Bathing Suit   // Shorts // Sandals // Bag // Hat

This is my current favorite shirt, it is also part of the capsule. I’ve worn it to work and it works well as a beach cover-up. Honestly I am waiting for these shorts to go on sale, so I can snag a second pair, they are the best! I have quite a few one piece bathing suits, this one is from J.Crew and they have a lot of them on sale right now.

I also caved and got this hat, I have to protect my face from the sun but it’s hard to find hats that accommodate my puffy hair. This one is a winner and comes in so many colors for under $20.

My “Pick of the Week” are these gorgeous sneakers I saw at the Nike store last week. They are so cool, love this style.
