Upcoming Books I’m Looking Forward To

upcoming books I'm looking forward to for Fall 2019 reads

Today I was supposed to do a monthly recap but I really didn’t have much to share. Next week, I will still share everything I wore in August so stay tuned for that.

Lately, I’ve been trying to not focus only on new books. A lot of new books get a lot of hype, and I believe that there’s several oldies that I still need to discover. Today’s post however is not about that, there’s a few books that will be released this Fall that I’m dying to get my hands on.

Don’t You Forget About Me is coming out on September 10th and it sounds like a light entertaining read. After losing her job, the heroine founds her boyfriend in bed with someone else, it sounds pretty juicy to me.

Red At The Bone is coming out on September 17th. It sounds heavier but in a good way. Two very different families are joined by an unexpected pregnancy.

Twenty One Truths About Love is coming out on November 19th. Daniel’s wife his pregnant and he’s struggling financially. I don’t know why but the summary sounds so good and I love the title.

Talking To Strangers out on September 10th, already preordered that one as a big Malcom Gladwell fan.

American Royals, out on September 3rd. The premise is that America has a royal family, sign me up.

It Sounded Better In My Head, coming out April 7th 2020. It’s a YA and sounds like a fun one, Natalie’s parents are getting a divorce and her two best friends got together and she’s not thrilled about it.

Are you looking forward to any upcoming books?

A Perfect Outfit – For Work

Since I don’t shop nearly as much, I wanted to find a new way to share classic outfits with you guys. Specially for work since that used to be such a huge part of this blog. I hardly go to the office anymore and I do miss wearing pretty outfits like this one above on the daily. If you are not fond of a midi skirt with flats, you could consider these wedges, I have them in both beige and black, as well as the suede version. I still got to the office once in a while and if I want to wear heels they are my go-to choice.

Thank you for reading and have a great week.

Sephora Sale :: My Beauty & Skincare Favorites

So I didn’t plan on posting today but I saw the Sephora vib sale is happening and wanted to share my favorite beauty and skincare products. I’ve purchased all these products more than once, so this is not a “I was sent this so I’m posting about it post”. Except for the shadow palettes, it’s really hard for me to go through an entire eye shadow palette. So let’s dive in!

Sephora carries a few of my favorite skincare products that I use on the reg.

Indie Lee CoQ 10 Toner: Most of my beauty products are not clean but this one is and does an amazing job at prepping my skincare for my serums and moisturizer. I’m on my second bottle hence why the one in the picture is so perfect.

Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask: I love to use this prior to going out. It really gives your skin a nice glow and my makeup applies flawlessly after. It’s also clean.

Modern Friction Cleansing Oil: I’m on my 5th bottle, I always buy one before the current one is over. This is the best oil cleanser I’ve ever used and it’s also amazing to remove makeup.

Drunk Elephant Baby facial Mask: This is my favorite exfoliating mask, it definitely tingles when you put it on, but after a minute you feel nothing. I use it weekly.

Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide Moisturizer: I got my second jar of this while writing this post. After I finished my first jar, I was going to wait before repurchasing but it is the perfect moisturizer for my oily skin. It gives me a lot of moisture, I use several other products that are quite drying and this doesn’t leave me looking like a greasy mess. It’s a staple in my routine.

Bath & Body

Sol De Janiero BUM BUM Body Cream & Body Wash: I never run out of this, it smells like a tropical vacation. The body cream leaves you with a very subtle shimmer, making it the perfect body cream for Summer.

L’Occitane Almond Body Lotion & Body Oil: The entire Almond line is divine but since discovering these two, I never go without them.

Jo Malone Cologne: This is what I use on the daily and to go out as well. It smells amazing. My two favorite scents are the Peony Blush & Suede and Mimosa Cardamon.

Nars Lip Pigment: I dedicated an entire post to this so no need to tell you more.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wize: I’m on my 4th or 5th one, been using it for years and it’s the best!

Pat McGrath Labs Eyeshadow Palette: I have two of her palettes and no other eye shadows. The pigment, application, quality is everything! I have this one and the other is unfortunately sold out.

And that’s it! Have a great weekend and thank you for stopping by.

Best Transitional Pieces for Fall 2019

1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5 // 6 // 7 // 8 // 9

Not quite into all the Fall talk yet, but these pieces will work now and later. This shirt dress is such a pretty color, it can be worn now with sandals and later layered with jeans and heels. I have two transport totes, the canvas version is so much cheaper and this print is pretty.

I really like that trench dress, it can be worn as is now. For my working girls pair with a white button down, tights and heels for a cute work look. If you are not into slip dresses, this skirt is the next best thing. When the temps drop, pair it with a chunky sweater and booties.

I love this new color of Malone Souliers signature look, it can be worn casually and with slacks and a sweater when it’s cooler.

This pants have been tempting me, I don’t need them but think they are so cute. They have amazing reviews and come in other colors and prints. I’m also really into belts, and this one is a beauty that will not go out of style.

Another obsession are these adorable sandals, love that the heels aren’t too high.

My Outfit HERE

My birthday is coming up next month, and I was planning on doing a wishlist type post today to make it easier for my friends and family. Well here we are, I will try again later.

My monthly book review posts are my favorites to share. I just love hearing what other’s thought of a book, I think I would really enjoy being in a real book club that meets in person. But I’m also an introverts that hates doing things outside of her routine soooo

I do have to share Very Nice with you right now! I could not wait for September. The characters in this book are just so terrible and amusing. I just loved watching them mess up, laugh at them and think to myself, you dumbass! When something terrible happened. I will warn you though, the first chapter was super annoying to me but I breezed through the rest.

I’m usually good at establishing new habits because deep down I’m a crazy type A. Since I work from home mostly, I wanted to maintain a good morning routine. I started waking up at 6 to go on a walk/run from Monday to Friday. So far that’s going well, it’s a great time to listen to a book or a podcast. Speaking of podcast, I started listening to Akimbo again, Seth Godin is just so good.

Speaking of new habits, I fell into an old bad one. I started watching Fraiser on Netflix and there’s 11 SEASONS. When I heard Seth say he hadn’t own a TV for 20 years I was shook.

I’m not there yet but I followed his advice, instead of letting Fraiser play mindlessly in the background while I’m on my computer or browsing instagram, I just watch one episode daily and move on with my day. It is much more enjoyable that way, like a small daily treat.

I saw this skirt and almost caved, isn’t it adorable? But I already have a slip leopard print dress that I can wear like a skirt so no need for both. I’m sharing it just in case, sorry to tempt you.

I know I promised a review of these sandals in a previous post and they are keepers. The heels aren’t too high but high enough to make them look dressier. They are really the perfect nude heels, they are coming with me to vacation next month. I also added Napa to my itinerary and I’m even more excited. I want to start packing right now! But that’s crazy right?

Well have a great Monday and thanks for stopping by.
