Hey hey! I missed last month’s recap because August was totally uneventful. My vacation was the highlight of September and such a great birthday present to myself. So if you didn’t follow on Instagram, here’s a mini recap. I also saved all my stories in a highlight called Carmel & SF.
Eating: I ate A LOT this past month, that’s usually expected on my birthday month. This was hands down the best meal, it was at a restaurant in Carmel named Portabella.
I cleaned out my fridge before I left and I want to get in the habit of eating almost everything before buying new groceries. I love variety so I often have several servings of different meals in the fridge. On Monday, I had to grocery shop and I need to finish the majority of it like meat, veggies, milk, eggs, basically the essentials before I buy new stuff. Basically no more trying out new recipes for fun, and having stuff go bad. It’s just so wasteful.
Watching: On my flight back I downloaded all the episodes of Unbelievable and it was such a good True Crime show. It’s only eight episodes and I cannot believe it is based on a true story.
Wearing: The outfit below was one of my travel outfits, more of what I wore will be shared in the monthly outfit recap. My bodysuit is on sale here.
Reading: I read “Do you mind if I cancel” on my flight back to Florida and it was so funny. A more thorough review is coming soon. I didn’t read much the past two weeks so I’m reviewing this list to pick out new reads and I also added this memoir to my TBR list.
Visited: Carmel by the Sea and San Francisco for the first time and had the best time. I went to Crissy Field and was the perfect place to see the Golden Gate Bridge. You can hike all the way til you get to the bridge.
From Carmel I checked out Big Sur, I wanted to get to the waterfall but didn’t make it. It was absolutely gorgeous there.
While in San Francisco I took the ferry to Sausalito. It’s such a cute spot, perfect place to go day drinking or just grab lunch.
If you are ever in Carmel, you must Point Lobos State Natural Reserve. It’s so beautiful and peaceful there, doesn’t this pic look like a postcard.
The painted ladies of course, I saw a tourist go up the stairs to take pictures by the front door, and I thought that was so disrespectful.
Loving: All these pieces from the Shopbop sale.
Looking forward to next month: Hosting brunch for a couple of friends from high school.
PS: If you look at my hair from the first picture to the last, you can see the evolution of the hair shrinkage over a week or so.
