Over the years more than once I’ve had readers ask me what to pack for a trip to South Florida and I’m finally getting around to putting together a post about that. So year round it is hot in South Florida, between December and March based on the week you are visiting we may have a cold snap. It can go down to the 30s, nothing too crazy.
Any other time of the year this is what packing for South Florida looks like. Based on your personal style feel free to add or remove some items. I didn’t add jeans but of course feel free to bring your favorite pair. The great thing about South Florida is that you can be as dressy or as laid back as you want.
Day and Night Dresses: You will have plenty of oppotunities to wear all your dresses. Pair them with flip flops, sandals or heels for a dressier look. Here are some options.
Light Jacket: I picked a denim one above because that’s very springy and summery. You may need it in a restaurant or at a movie theater or anywhere really. This is the South so the AC is usually blasting everywhere. A cardigan would do as well. Honestly don’t bring more than two.
Tops: For sure bring your t-shirts, cute blouse to pair with skirts, shorts and more.
Bathing suits: No trip in South Florida is complete without a beach day or at least a pool day. My all time favorite suit is the simple string bikini by J.Crew. I also love their one pieces, I have a few of them. Don’t forget your cover-up 😉
Skirts & Shorts: It gets really hot and I highly recommend bringing a pair of shorts that you are comfortable here. Skirts are a great option as well, you don’t want them to be overly heavy. See some options below.
Shoes: Get a cute pedicure and bring on all the sandals, a pair of sneakers is a good idea if you plan on doing a lot of walking.
To sum this up here’s a final list.
- Bathing suits
- Sandals/Flip Flops
- Casual dresses
- Going out dresses
- EXTRA: Jewelry, Toiletries, Sunscreen, Hat & more…
