How To Wear A Utility Skirt?
Fall Prep Part One

Hey guys! I’m back with another beauty update, I haven’t done one in months. This year my skin was just freaking out, I was getting a bunch of hormonal acne and they left some nasty scars behind. I was back to using my full coverage foundation everyday. Eventually I got sick of my skin and decided to do something about it. Last week I was on my way to work and realized that I’ve been just using my BB cream for the past few days. That’s a sign my skin have improved a lot and I had to share with you guys what I’ve been doing and using. I was considering going to a dermatologist but I don’t think that’s necessary at this point. FYI my skin type is oily.

Skincare Routine for Uneven Skintone & Dark Spots

So these 6 products have been on heavy rotation and they’ve helped with my dark spots, uneven skin tone and now I’m comfortable going make-up free again.

Modern Friction: I’ve been using this for years but of course I often get lazy and barely use it. For it to be effective for me I have to use it 2-3 times weekly. It’s my favorite for exfoliating, I always apply it on dry skin and make sure to massage it in circular motion. I often leave it on for a couple minutes, if you have dry skin I don’t recommend doing that.

Zero Oil Pore Purifying Toner: This is my all time favorite clarifying toner, this is a must for me to stay on top of new breakouts.

Modern Friction Oil Cleanser: When I picked up the two above, I noticed that Origins came out with a new cleanser. Since I’ve been obsessed with Modern Friction for years I decided to try this cleanser. I use it in the morning and all the reservations I had with oil cleansers dissipated. It deep cleans and contributed to brightening my skin.

La Mer Moisturizing Cream: I started using this for months now and it is a night cream. It is far too thick to use during the day, but I honestly feel like it’s a miracle cream. When I wake up in the morning my skin has that dewy finish and after cleansing, toning and moisturizing my makeup goes on so smoothly.

Murad Lightening Serum: Unfortunately I wasn’t good about not popping pimples. So I ended up with quite a few fresh super dark spots, I knew I needed extra help and repurchased this. This stuff works, apply it daily and you dark spots will lightens. I tend to apply only in areas I have dark spots as I don’t want to lighten other areas.

Vintner’s Daughter: Last but not least, this made me cringe when I was purchasing it, it is not cheap but I loved that it had no harsh chemicals and I did all the research and couldn’t find a single bad review. I will say that this is the main product that’s improving my overall complexion, it’s the very last one I added to the mix. They recommend using 6-8 drops but 4-5 is good enough for me, and yes I will repurchase it.

I don’t do skincare products reviews often because one I am not an expert and I am known to roll my eyes when I see bloggers recommend yet another skincare brand. I take my skincare routine very seriously as I’ve dealt with so many skin problems in the past, trust me this little episode this year is nothing compared to what I’ve gone through before. The La Mer cream was gifted to me last year and I had zero obligation to review. I would also like to add, that it took me at least 8 weeks of constantly using these to really notice improvements in my skin tone. I need to also mention that I did mask regularly on top of this routine, usually twice a week. I would love to do more but I am often just too lazy or tired. The masks that I think made a huge difference on top of this routine is Clear Improvement and The Brilliance Brightening Mask, if I could only keep two masks it would be these for sure. Also using my Clarisonic is key because it does a better job at removing impurities. Eating less sugar, drinking less alcohol and having more fruits, veggies, water are highly beneficial for your skin.

Let me know if you have any questions about these.
