Yesterday was possible the longest day ever, I had so much to do but still took the time to shop the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2017. I will keep it real, Nordstrom is a store that has cult following and I get it now, they have an a great selection of items and good customer service. I had specific items I wanted from the sale and I’m happy because most of them ended up working out. Was I overwhelmed while shopping? The answer to that is a solid no. A lot of the Nordstrom specific brands like BP, Halogen, Carlson, Hinge and more carry pieces that you can easily find at H&M, Forever 21, Gap for a fraction of this sale price. This year to whole fashion industry decided to start making weird looking tops, I was so annoyed I mean look at this.
A little ruffle and fun sleeves are totally fine here and there but I can guarantee that in a year or 2 everyone will be trying to get rid of these. I just want to be honest and while my style may not be super popular or trendy, I’d rather keep it real and maybe spend a little more to get quality pieces. This may mean that I will never be a super blogger and that’s fine with me. So don’t be tricked my major retailers, their personal brands are just like fast fashion stores, so save your $$ and get these trendy pieces at H&M or F21 for under $20 if you feel like experimenting. Keep in mind most big retailer have their own fast fashion brand, Bloomingdale’s is called Aqua if I remember correctly. So if you are going to drop over $150 on a bunch of little tops and such, trust me one this, this is NOT the best deal. Use that money and get one great item or go to a fast fashion store.
I wanted a new pair of jeans, AG is my go to for a splurge. I did want to try one pair of Good American just to be a hater of the Kardashians and OMG! This is possibly the best fitting jeans I’ve ever tried in my life and I have to give it to Khloé, girlfriend nailed it. I don’t even have the gap in the back that I’ve gotten used to at this point from every single brand. This was such a no brainer, they are perfect and fit true to size. I am wearing a 26/2 here and when I got home I got the other pair they had on sale that wasn’t available in store. Furthermore, Charnele tried this pair as well and had the exact same reaction as me.
I also tried this pair of Frame and it fits so well, I did not buy them. They are true to size and I do recommend them, they fit amazing as well. I didn’t like the split legs.
I had high hopes for these flats but I already have a pair of Cole Haan leopard flats so I didn’t get them. They do run big, I had to go down half a size and I do recommend them. They are a classic pair, I highly recommend Cole Haan shoes for work, they last me a minimum of 5 years. I kid you not and I’ve been able to resale several of them on eBay.
I got my pack of Voluspa candles, these make great presents but obvi these are all mine.
I wanted to like this dress, but I don’t love this cut on me. I prefer a more fit and flare style and that whole thing that I blabbed about earlier. I do find that Halogen clothing runs big so if you have your eyes on this size down. Honestly I would better get a cute work dress at J.Crew Factory.
This was the very first item that got my attention in the catalog and I loved it even more in person. This is my first grey bag, and I’ve been a fan of All Saints minimal style forever. A nice addition to my little handbag collection.
You know I love this jacket but I just couldn’t bring myself to pay $50 for it, it’s lightweight and so cute. I would have gotten it for maybe $35, I felt like I could get this at Gap for much less.
I didn’t want to love these slip ons, the second I put them on I was sold. Now I need to save to get more Vince shoes in the future, they feel like butter. They run big, I’m a 7.5 and had to size down to a 7. Vince is another minimal brand I love, they make such classic basics. They are a bit pricey, hence why I took advantage of the nsale.
I am obsessed with Adidas for my casual athleisure looks, this sounded so pretentious lol. Really I saw this sweatshirt and I was like yasssssss. Wearing a small here. Fun fact, Charnele ended up getting this exact same look and we didn’t even shop together.
Obvi I got the tank as well, I also have the boyfriend tees and a couple of crop tops. I’m telling you I have a problem.
I love this cami from the catalog as well, the thing is I don’t have a need for camis and it is kind of cheaply made. I am wearing an XS here and I’m a 34B. So if you are busty size up.
I had to try one this suede moto jacket and it lives up to the hype, I didn’t get because well I live in South Florida and I do have a nice suede jacket already.
I decided to try this dress on a whim and yea no! I cannot find it online I remember it was by the brand Pleione.
I told you I didn’t go crazy and not pictured are my Hanky Pankies and Natori Underwire Feather bra. Overall, this is what I got.
