5 podcasts to listen to

I love listening to podcasts, I think I started with Serial I think and totally got sucked in. For the longest time I listened to BBC global news every morning and afternoon but it got repetitive so I stopped. Here are the current 5 that I listened to almost religiously.

Dear Sugar: Ok I love Cheryl and Steve, I could listen to them talk forever. Seriously they are so compassionate and open minded, I could totally see myself being friends with them. Dear Sugar is basically an advice podcast, whatever issue you may be having, you can always count on Cheryl and Steve to weigh in and bring in experts to help solve your problem. It’s really like food for the soul.

Modern Love: Each episode of Modern Love is read by a celebrity, they are essays from the popular NY Times weekly series. These stories are so moving and are all very different. Some will make you cry, some will be you laugh and some will make you go awww. I feel like a show like that is important because you get to hear about other people’s lives and their struggles. You don’t have to live through something to sympathize with others, and this podcast really brings stories that I absolutely had no idea about. It’s just interesting to me to learn about others life experiences I guess.

TedTalks Society + Culture: I’ve listened to a limited amount of episodes and they are all so good so far. They cover a variety of topics, these talks are given by experts and they are always so captivating and informative to me. I always end up recommending them to my friends so we can talk about them later.

Hashtag Authentic: Ok this one is for all my bloggers, Sara Tasker who has the prettiest voice and cutest accent ever dish out all her knowledge on how to build a great Instagram account and have an authentic and engaged following. I think I stumbled upon her on twitter and I am forever grateful. The latest podcast is talking about whether blogging is dead or not. Thank me later you will love that one.

The Minimalists: I watched their documentary on Netflix, Joshua and Ryan are so inspiring and brave, I just recently started listening to the podcast. While I’m no minimalist, consumerism is a topic that I think about a lot. This podcast is good to listen to to help put things in perspective. Now that I’m in the process of moving, I’m in I want ALL THE THINGS mode. I have to give myself frequent reminders, like this or that is not necessary. I hate clutter as it is, so I really need to keep the purchases to the minimum because my place is not huge. Overall I do want to live a simpler life and be content with what I have.

That’s all for today guys, I should be getting the keys to my new place this weekend so I’m super excited and scared because I have so much to do.

PS: The Shopbop sale has been extended til Sunday, which is dangerous. See my picks here. Express is also having 40% off everything, see my favorites below.

J.Crew Factory also has 50% off everything, I haven’t shopped there in a while and was so excited to see so many new cute pieces. I totally placed an order.
